Protest Form FAQs

1. Does signing a Protest Form mean there will be an election on the annexation?

Not necessarily. Signing a Protest Form simply means you oppose annexation. The first sentence of the Form says “oppose annexation”. If enough Forms are submitted, the annexation will be terminated, not voted upon.

2. If there is no election, how do I show support or opposition for annexation?

The annexation will be automatically approved unless a large number of residents sign Protest Forms. If you support annexation, don’t sign a Protest Form. If you oppose annexation, sign one.

3. Why doesn’t the City want us to vote?

The Protest Period is your opportunity to show your support or opposition to annexation. Such a decision doesn’t necessarily have to happen in a voting booth at a polling place. To show your support for annexation, don’t sign a Protest Form.

4. How do I withdraw my Protest Form?

To withdraw your protest you must fill out and sign a Withdrawal of Protest Form and have it submitted to LAFCO before June 28th. You can obtain a Withdrawal Form from by contacting Bob Baida at 661-313-4128 of email us at annexstonecrest@aol.com.

We would be happy to bring you a copy for signature. We will collect all withdrawal forms and submit them in a consolidated package to LAFCO.
