The City of Santa Clarita
offers significantly more parks and recreational programs at more
and better facilities than are offered by the County.
The City provides the
only publicly accessible sports fields in the eastern half of the
Santa Clarita Valley (east of Bouquet Canyon Road).

- 17 active neighborhood,
community, and regional parks totaling over 240 acres
- A State-of-the-art
aquatics center and sports complex
- Over 2,000 acres of
passive and special use parkland
- Over 29 miles of
trails with over 30 more miles proposed
CITY
RECREATION PROGRAMS
- The City
offers dozens of adult and youth sports programs, including softball,
basketball, soccer, volleyball, water polo, swimming and aquatics
activities, tennis, and football
- The City sponsors
hundreds of adult and youth classes including arts, crafts, dance,
music, language, health, fitness, theater, and many more.
LOWER
FEES
- City residents pay
less for recreational programs. The City recently adopted a policy
that unincorporated County residents participating in City recreational
programs will be pay an estimated $10-$40 more per person per
program depending on the program at City-built facilities
- City residents also
receive priority registration over unincorporated County residents
for these programs.
