Trash Collection

The City of Santa Clarita will have a new residential contract as of April 15, 2006. Here are the features and benefits available to residential cart customers:

• Rate reduction to $16.25 per month

• Senior citizen rate $13.00 per month

• Different size carts exchange upon request

• Additional trash cart $10.00

• Additional recycle or green waste carts at no charge

• 8 annual pick ups of extra bags, 3 per pick up

• Twice yearly-bulky item drop off events (tba)

• 4 bulky item pick ups per year (including electronic waste) /
   maximum 3 items per pick up / additional pick ups $20.00

• Bulky item drop off at no charge at WM / BBD facility

• Recycling contamination warnings 3 in year before refusal to service

• $2.00 discount for no green waste cart (upon city approval)

• Lost stolen or damaged carts replaced at no charge

• Notify customers of rates changes 30 days in advance

• Pay 11 months in advance and get one month free

• 8 percent bulk billing discount (group billing)

• Re-start fee $15.00 (when service is terminated for failure to pay)

• Late fees beyond 60 days 1 percent per month
